b.1972 Lima, Peru
Profile
I have been creating sculpture for the last two decades. In Peru I started carving granite from the riverbeds of mountainous regions. For the past 7 years in the United States I have continued my exploration of materiality finding raw wood and paper as my central medium of expression. My work is environmental and is moving towards being experienced in larger, outdoor and publicly accessible venues.
Experience
technical Instructor, art students league — 2006-Present
Instruct students on the creative and technical process of sculpting in wax and then casting into bronze through the Loss Wax Process. Students of any level enroll in the Sculpting in Wax class and are brought through the many stages continually. I work one on one with the students creative process, then as a group each students work is made into bronze. Bronze pours are scheduled every other month and on average there are 7 individual sculptures poured.
